Simultaneous premenstrual endometrial biops‐ and serum progesterone determination were done on 13 anovulator‐ and 42 ovulator‐ cases. It was found that serum progesterone level of 3 ng/ml diagnostic of ovulation if the samples are taken between da‐s 17–24. Lower levels are seen on the extremes of the ovulator‐ c‐cles. Moreover serum progesterone levels above 5 ng/ml on da‐s 17–24 mostl‐ indicate adequate corpus luteum function.
