The main objective of this study was to assess the frequency of tubal spasm during hysterosalpingography. 19 patients were subjected to hysterosalpingogram in whom no pelvic pathology was detected in laparoscopic hydrotubation. Six of these patients in whom both tubes were found to be patient on laparoscopic hydrotubation showed varying degrees of tubal blockage on hysterosalpingography. The incidence of tubal spasm as a cause of tubal blockage was 32%.
