Thirty patients were enrolled in this study. In half of the group, electrocutting was used in transecting the abdomen, while in other half, the conventional scalpel was used. From our observations; diathermy incisions showed some impairment of the healing, but no serious complications has occurred. The observation of the wound healing and complications of the procedures used were discussed in the light of the available data.
