Cervical mucus glucose levels have been estimated during the periovulatory phase. They have been found to be significantly lower in infertile women than in those of known fertility. Sperm penetration was also studied in relation to the cervical mucus glucose concentration and it has been found to be directly proportional to the glucose content.
