Uterine phlebography using the transcavitary technique was performed on 58 women suffering from chronic pelvic pain of unknown origin. The phlebography was pathological for 38 women. No significant differences between the right and left plexuses were noted. Congestive changes were located more frequently in the uterovaginal than in the utero‐ovarian plexuses. The nature of the complaints of the patients with normal and pathological phlebography was generally similar. Dyspareunia, however, was distinctly more common in connection of the pathological phlebography finding.
