Two‐dimensional echocardiograms of 141 fetuses ranging from 18 to 42 weeks of gestational age were examined retrospectively to identify fetal heart structures. Many different views of the fetal heart were clearly evident, and the structures were well delineated. As four chamber views were seen in many cases, this plane may be suitable for a standardized observation of the fetal heart. This approach is expected to lead toward a prenatal diagnosis of congenital heart diseases.
