This article presents a detailed study of menstrual pattern in nulliparous and parous women. Mean age of menarche in the two groups was comparable (14.45 years and 14.5 years respectively). Menstrual cycle length within the range of physiological normal limits was found in 69.4% of nulliparous and 76.6% of parous women. Menorrhagia was more frequent in nulliparous girls, 40.7% Vs 8.7% in parous women. Incidence of dysmenorr‐hoea showed a wide variation in the two groups (70.6% Vs. 29.1%). In nulliparous girls, dysmenorrhoea was of spasmodic type while in the parous group it was mainly congestive in nature. There is a need for investigating these young girls with history of scanty or excessive flow and dysmenorrhoea for latent genital tuberculosis
