Detection of ovulation was studied in 60 sterility cases attending the outpatient's department at a teaching Hospital in Bombay. 30 cases were studied for 3 successive cycles and all the three methods viz. endometrial biopsy, cervical mucus and vaginal cytology were employed. 24 cases were studied for 2 cycles only and the cervical mucus and endometrial biopsy were compared. Remaining 6 cases were studied also for 2 cycles only and the cervical mucus and the vaginal cytology were compared. Relevant literature on the subject reviewed and the present series compared with the reports of some of the workers in the field .
