In about 30% of cases of glomerulonephritis. there is little or no evidence that humoral immunity has a role in the pathogenesis of the disease. There is now mounting evidence that cell‐mediated immunity (CMI) plays a role in this group of glomerulonephritides, particularly in minimal lesion glomerulonephritis. Moreover, there is some evidence that CMl may also augment injury in glomerulonephritis, primarily induced by a humoral mechanism .
