Summary: Forty‐five cases of Takayasu's arteritis seen between January 1, 1960 and January 31, 1977 have been studied in terms of age and sex incidence, clinical features and results of various laboratory investigations. Although no definite aetiology has been established, the possibility of autoimmune process appears more likely than tuberculous or syphilitic aetiology.
