Summary: This paper brings together the key points of many of the papers presented throughout the day. In particular the neuropathology and pathophysiology of Parkinson's Disease is coordinated. This leads to the outline of a model of Parkinson's Disease based on the best available knowledge at the present time. Summary of explanations for the failure of L‐dopa, a description of electromyographic studies in Parkinsonian patients and several interesting case presentations are included. Contraindications to L‐dopa therapy are summarised.
