ABSTRACTS FROM THE 47TH ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC MEETING OF THE UROLOGICAL SOCIETY OF AUSTRALASIA

This meeting, organized by Mr Antony Low, was held at Cable Beach Club, Broome, Western Australia, between 28 May and 3 June 1994. The Society's principal guests, Mr Paul Abrams from Southmead Hospital Bristol, England, Professor Helmut Madersbacher, Professor of Urology at the University Hospital Innsbruck, Austria and Professor George Webster from Duke University in Durham North Carolina, USA were very active participants in the scientific programme which focussed on lower urinary tract dysfunction and prostatic conditions in particular. Other visitors included Professor Nicholas Bruchovsky from the Department of Cancer Endocrinology, British Columbia Cancer Agency, Vancouver, Canada, Professor Frans Debruyne. Professor and Chairman at the Department of Urology, Nijmegen, The Netherlands and Professor Tony Mundy from the Institute of Urology. London, England, who is a regular contributor to our Australasian meetings: The scientific agenda was managed by Mr Alastair Tulloch. Abstracts submitted for publication are presented in the sections and order of presentation at the meeting: reconstructive urology, neurogenic bladder, alternative treatment methods for benign prostatic hyperplasia. carcinoma of the prostate, trainee presentations for the Keith Kirkland Prize, genuine stress incontinence, poster presentations, andrology, and free papers.
