A case report of a patient suffering from severe otalgia for 12 months and intermittent otonhoea over a 53 year period is presented. Diagnosed as verrucous carcinoma of the temporal bone, this is only the ninth case found in the literature. The difficulty of histological diagnosis and subsequent management are important features.
