Three patients admitted after motor vehicle accident trauma are presented. Each had bilateral eye injuries with significant but variable visual loss. Common features to each were alcohol intoxication and lack of use of seatbelts, and each was young and male. New microsurgical ophthalmological techniques as well as a multidisciplinary surgical approach to these types of injuries are emphasized.
