Fifteen of 139 patients undergoing resection for gastric carcinoma were found to have duodenal invasion by the tumour. Most of these tumours were of advanced type and 11 had nodal metastases. In eight patients the line of duodenal section was involved by tumour. Spread into duodenal mucosa was uncommon.
