Until recent years, infective lesions of the spine have almost always been due to Mycobacterium tuberculosis or pyogenic bacteria. Recently, however, a number of infections by other types of organisms have been reported. Torulopsis glabrata , normally a well‐distributed saprophyte in man, has not, to the best of our knowledge, been among these. We now report a case of spinal osteomyelitis due to this organism, and discuss the management of infections for which it can be responsible.
