Two patients suffering from the uncommon condition of Peutz‐Jeghers syndrome are reported. One presented as an acute abdomen, the diagnosis being made at laparotomy, while the other presented with typical pigmentation, a subsequent barium study confirming the presence of multiple polypi in the gastrointestinal tract. Both the patients are being regularly followed up for any further episodes of intestinal obstruction or possible malignant change. The authors have reviewed the literature and have stressed the diagnostic significance of melanin spots on and around the lips.
