Aortic size has been studied in 21 patients, not only by the conventional techniques of clinical assessment, plain radiology and aortography, but also by the use of reflected ultrasound or echography. Echography has provided the correct diagnosis in 16 of our last 18 patients and is a helpful investigation in the diagnosis of abdominal aortic aneurysms.
