Fifty cases of chronic benign obstructive lesions of the ilco‐caccal region have been studied. The histopathology, particularly of the lymph nodes, provides the maximal confirmatory evidence of tuberculosis. Guinea‐pig inoculation is more informative, offering greater possibilities of indentifying acid‐fast bacilli. The demonstration of granuloma formation with caseation represents a significant advance in the laboratory diagnosis of tuberculosis.
