This paper describes in detail the surgical anatomy of the porcine liver in relation to hepatectomy for allotransplantution. The aim of the procedure is to provide a donor liver in optimal condition for implantation. The importance of a preferred sequence of dissection, and of ligation of the efferent lymphatics from the liver to prevent ascites, is stressed .
