Maduroinycosis is a chronic fungal infection, rare in temperate climates, characterized by progressive erosion of healthy tissue and frequently requiring amputation of the affected limb. A case is presented in detail in which rapid clinical remission was obtained by using the drug nystatin locally and systematically in large doses. Certain aspects of the case are briefly discussed. Finally amputation was needed.
