The use of a cutaneous vasoconstrictor agent is helpful in many branches of surgery. This report deals with the use of a new vasoconstrictor agent (ornithine vasopressin —POR 8) in a range of general surgical procedures. It was found to be both effective and safe, with practically no side‐effects. Extension of its clinical use is recommended .
