Summary five cases of hydatid disease involving vertebrae have been presented and a brief review of the incidence, pathology, and current treatment of this condition included. it appears that until more effective antiparasitic agents are developed, early, radical and if necessary repeated surgery provides the best prognosis in the management of vertebral hydatidosis.
