Summary A case of ruptured aneurysm of the renal artery which was successfully treated by nephrectomy is presented. It appears to be the first recorded case of rupture in which calcification of the aneurysm has been seen on a pre‐operative X‐ray of the abdomen, and the fifth reported case to have survived the complication of rupture. The subject of aneurysm of the renal artery is briefly reviewed.
