Summary This paper deals with a patient with tuberous sclerosis but no mental defect who presented with haemorrhage into a large renal hamartoma. The radiological features including those found on a renal arteriogram have been described. Multiple hamartomata were demonstrated by abnormal vascular channels within them and this was confirmed by pathological examination of the nephrectomy specimen.
