Summary 1. Two cases are presented, in which percutaneous splenoportography in the antero‐posterior and lateral positions demonstrated the site, size and numher of hydatid cysts in the liver. 2. This technique is of great value, as it allows a planned approach by the surgeon. 3. The initial size of the cyst was determined at operation by injecting contrast medium into it. This gave an accurate comparison with the avascular area in the splenoportogram.
