Summary A typical pilonidal sinus occurring in the axilla is described. It contained hair and there was, at its apex, a characteristic talc granuloma. Not only ‐ did the position of this sinus support the general view of the acquired nature of these sinuses but the granuloma indicated that the contained material did in fact enter the region (and the sinus) from the exterior.
