Summary. 1. Four cases of azotazmia following severe fluid loss from the upper gastro‐ intestinal tract are reported. Three cases followed pyloric stenosis ahd the other case followed gastro‐enterostomy and vagotomy for a similar condition. 2. Disturbance of the dynamics of the circulatory system and of the intrarenal circulation appears to account for the outstanding features of the syndrome. 3. Further doubt is cast on the role played by toxins.
