Summary 1. Forty cases of gunshot wounds of the chest in patients treated at an Australian general hospital and the results obtained are reviewed. 2. The morbidity following penetrating and perforating wounds of the chest is discussed and a comparison is made. 3. A conservative scheme of treatment is outlined and the. results of the various methods employed are reviewed.
