Summary .1. Eight cases of cardiospasm, five in males and three in females, are reported, with the subsequent history of each. 2. Dilatation in each case was carried out on one occasion only. 3. The method of dilatation over a previously swallowed silk thread, with either a Plummer hydrostatic dilator or a Moerseh‐Plummer bougie, is advocated.
