Summary1 In bilateral renal tuberculosis, nephrectomy is rarely indicated. 2 The difficulties and the methods of determining the presence of tuberculous infection in the other kidney are discussed. 3 It is occasionally better to remove the obviously tuberculous kidney than to wait until conclusive evidence is prodiieed that the other kidney is free from disease.
