of other risk factors such as mild to moderate myopia, female gender and onset during the younger half of life. To avoid the risk of collateral damage from focal laser coagulation in the immediate vicinity to the fovea, and in agreement with recent reports on the regression of intraocular neovascularisations after intravitreal bevacizumab injections, the patient described in the present report received an anti-VEGF treatment as primary therapy to occlude the choroidal neovascularisation. The clinical observations suggest the effectiveness of the treatment. It is to be noted, however, that neovascular lesions may require repeated (serial) injections of antiVEGF treatment to achieve a stable situation. In our patient, no subsequent recurrence of the CNV was detectable. In association with other recent investigations, the present study may extend the observations made on the clinical usefulness of intravitreal antiangiogenic drugs for treatment of intraocular neovascularisations to subretinal neovascularisations caused by ocular inflammatory diseases such as PICR.
