This paper describes 11 patients who presented over the last six years because of an ophthalmic problem related to either a known or unknown systemic neoplasm. Summary A review of recent literature has been given, along with the histories of 11 patients with systemic neoplasia and ophthalmic manifestations. It is hoped that an increased awareness of such problems, by both the ophthalmologist and physician, and a useful scheme of classification, may improve patient management. A review of the more recent literature on systemic neoplasms which affect the ocular and periocular structures is given, and a classification of ophthalmic manifestations of systemic neoplasia is suggested.
