Summary This paper will discuss the pharmacology and mechanism of action of various drugs used to treat glaucoma, such as epinephrine, pilocarpine, carbonic anhydrase inhibitors and a new class of drugs to be used in ophthalmology, the beta adrenergic blockers, with particular reference to timolol.
