Summary Although human infection with Toxocara cams is a recently recognized disease (25 years) it is apparently widespread. Control methods and public awareness can reduce the potential of infection with this parasite. Newer cytologic and enzyme tests combined with modifications of older serologic methods may assist in the differential diagnosis of toxocariasis.
