Summary The paper presents a reminder of the importance of gout in ocular disorders. A summary of the ophthalmic aspects of gout encountered in 24 years of private and public hospital practice is presented. These aspects are not common but this metabolic disorder should always be remembered in cases of ocular inflammation.
