S ummary Preretinal macular fibrosis is a common condition in its early form manifesting as a glistening reflex on the surface of the retina leading to retinal folds and tortuosity of the retinal blood vessels. A more extensive late form exists which may lead to spontaneous massive preretinal retraction.
