Summary P olycoria is a very rare condition. A search at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, Melbourne, showed the following case to be described to be the only one recorded. It is interesting to relate that whilst searching for cases of polycoria only 71 cases of congenital defects of the iris were found. The most common defect, as one would expect, was coloboma of the iris. Considering the fact that 60,000 eye outpatients are seen yearly at this hospital, the figure appears small.
