S ummary Various tests used to verify functioning of the lacrimal canaliculi are studied. At the end, a method is described for determining whether the lacrimal canaliculi are functioning or not in patients with obstructions in the nasolacrimal duct, of special importance when a dacryocystorhinostomy is to be performed and it is desirable to insure that epiphora caused by functional canalicular insufficiency will not persist.
