The Djelk Rangers have foundCyberTracker to be an efcient,cost-effective, user-friendly andversatile data collection andmanagement tool that canempower land and sea managersto engage in local, regional andnational environmental decisionmaking. This outline of its use inthe Djelk Indigenous ProtectedArea in central Arnhem Land,Australia, shows how thisranger group have pioneeredmethodology to collectgeo-referenced data of all itsoperational activities. The datacapabilities and successful uptakeof this technology by the DjelkRangers demonstrate its potentialas a tool for other Indigenousgroups and its relevance to abroad environmental audience.
