Increased thromboxane synthesis capacity was demonstrated in platelets from a patient with hemolytic uremic syndrome by the measurement of [1‐ 14 C] TxB 2 converted from [1‐ 14 C] arachidonic acid. Whether such potentiated platelets are a possible risk factor of this disease is discussed.
