Toys are associated with a child's expression, fantasy, interest, exploration, construction, education, cognitive development and sex‐role learning. The present research was concerned with the influence of parental toy choice on child toy preference and sex‐role typing among nursery school children. The results indicated that child toy preference was found to be significantly related to parental toy preference. Moreover, the parental toy preference was found to be associated with sex‐role typing.
