Summary An 1‐month‐old male infant with bathing trunk nervus and hydrocephalus is described. He died of hydrocephalus communicans with purulent meningitis. At autopsy leptomeningeal melanosis was found, and the diagnosis of neuro‐cutaneous melanosis was made. The detailed histological findings of the central nervous system in this case are presented here. There have been no reports about the electron microscopic observation in this condition. The pathogenesis of this disease and the mechanism of hydrocephalus are discussed on the basis of histological findings.
