Summary A case of atresia of the aortic arch, which belongs to type A of classification of Celoria and Patton, was reported. In addition, the literatures of 116 previous patients were reviewed briefly. The terminology “Steidele's complex” proposed by Lie was discussed. Also the pathogenesis and clinical features were discussed briefly. The result of the surgical treatment may be concerned mainly to intracardiac septal defect causing pulmonary hypertention.
