Revision of Vitellus Stål and Avicenna Distant in Australia (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae)

Four known species of Vitellus and one of Avicenna have been redescribed. the following new synonyms are proposed: V. taurus Distant 1910 = V. antemna Breddin 1900; V. bovillus Distant 1910 = V. forficuloides Walker 1867; Morna cucospila Walker 1867 and Cuspicona splendidula Distant 1910 = Cimex aggressor F. 1775 and Cuspicona recurvicornis Breddin 1900 = C. auricornis Walker 1867. the latter has been moved to Avicenna as has Morna aggressor. Two new species are described, V. simpsoni and V. warreni. A key to species is given.
