
Aedes albopictus (Skuse) (Diptera: Culicidae) in the Western Province of Papua New Guinea and the Threat of its Introduction to Australia

In the Western Province of Papua New Guinea populations of the dengue vector Aedes albopictus were found in Daru and Kiunga, but not in three coastal villages opposite the Torres Strait Islands. the implications of these findings with regard to the possible introduction of this mosquito to Australia are discussed.
