Austrolichas monteithi , gen. et sp. n., is described from tropical North Queensland. The genus is placed in the subfamily Cladotominae, and comparisons are made with other cladotomine genera. The presumed larva of A. monteithi is described; it shares unique features of the abdominal apex with the cladotomine genus Paralichas White.
