Lepidiota reuleauxi Brenske is confirmed as the whitegrub attacking sugarcane at Ramu Sugar Estate, Gusap, Papua New Guinea. A lectotype and paralectotypes are designated, and adults and the raster pattern of the third‐instar larva are described.
