The immature stages and biology of the univoltine Chrysonotomyia sp. C, a primary, larval endoparasitoid of feeding larvae of the jarrah leafminer, Perthida glyphopa Common, are described. Slow development of hydropic eggs and prolonged feeding of the parasitoid larvae enable the host to complete feeding and commence aestivation in the soil. The parasitoids then mature, destroy the host and aestivate until emergence between April and June.
