Abstract Four new species of Helferella Cobos are described and figured: H. macalpinei and H. webbensis from north Queensland; H. manningensis and H. miyal from New South Wales. Mastogenius frenchi Thery is transferred to Helferella. The genus is diagnosed and a key to all 5 species given. The relationships and generic composition of the Mastogeniinae are discussed.
